Whiskeytown | Shasta
Lake | Trinity Lake
If
you are bringing your ski boat to the Redding area
or are interested in renting a ski boat or houseboat, the opportunities
for Redding Area Boating
are endless. The Whiskeytown-Shasta-Trinity National
Recreation Area embraces four beautiful lakes: Whiskeytown, about
8 miles
west of Redding, Trinity and Lewiston, northeast
of Weaverville, and Lake Shasta just north of Redding.
Whiskeytown
A
favorite for boating, Whiskeytown Lake, provides 36 miles of
shoreline and 3200 surface acres of water, and is excellent for
most water-related activities. There are three boat ramps on
the lake located at Whiskey Creek, Brandy Creek and Oak Bottom.
Boats may also be rented at Oak Bottom Marina.
During
the summer months the water is warm and is great for swimming or
water skiing. We love to take our boat out to one of the small
islands on the lake and spend the day barbequing and swimming in
the warm water. Another favorite on the lake, especially for kids
is to rent a kayak which is great for exploring some of the more
quiet coves around Whiskeytown Lake.

Visitors Web Site.
